Japanese Knotweed Removal Cost

The cost of removing Japanese Knotweed generally depends on the size of the area to be treated and the method of removal.

Where management plans for mortgages and disposal programs will vary from property to property, in our experience the cost of Japanese Knotweed removal is unlikely to exceed £2,000. The total cost would include a site survey, management report, treatment program, monitoring and a 10 year insurance backed guarantee. A first course of action is taking advantage of Landtech (UK) Limited‘s FREE Japanese Knotweed Identification Service.

Treatment & Control Methods

Herbicide Treatment

In most cases, a herbicide treatment is the easiest solution and cheapest cost, but must be recognised as only a method of “control” due to the risk of dormancy and regrowth. The three treatments available are Foliar Spray ApplicationStem Injection and Stem Filling. The cost varies for each of these treatments.

Removal & Disposal

Complete Japanese Knotweed removal and disposal requires excavation. Stockpile On-site is not as immediate as Burial On-site, and while Removal To Landfill is also an immediate solution, it is by far the most expensive. With all three methods, the total removal cost will depend on the size of the area to be excavated.

Before quoting the treatment or removal and disposal cost we would need to conduct a site survey. Landtech (UK) Limited provide both residential Knotweed surveys, and full site commercial surveys. Residential surveys are ideal for home sellers, buyers and mortgage lenders of Knotweed affected properties and commercial Japanese Knotweed surveys will establish on-site problems and any risks for proposed development plans.
